Having photographed Nanny Camp in previous years, stepping back into this cherished retreat for 2024 felt like returning to a familiar, joyful family gathering. Hosted by Playful Acre in collaboration with Adventure Nannies, this year's camp, set at SJ Riding Camp near Hartford, Connecticut, brought back all the reasons I fell in love with capturing Nanny Camp in the first place: the laughter, connection, and transformative experiences that make this gathering truly unique.
A Reunited Family of Caregivers
One of the best parts of returning to Nanny Camp is recognizing familiar faces and the warmth of reuniting with returning attendees. As a photographer, it’s incredible to witness how these connections deepen each year. There’s a natural evolution in the bonds formed, and capturing those friendships as they grow stronger with each camp adds a new layer of emotion and depth to my work.
Building on Tradition with New Moments
Each year brings fresh energy and new adventures. From the artful chaos of the craft tables to the rejuvenating splash of water activities, I looked for both the anticipated moments and the spontaneous ones that make each camp unique.
